Hi, and welcome to Bloem. My name is Karin, the creator behind Bloem. I live on Phillip Island, VIC, with my husband and 3 kids. Originally from The Netherlands I have been surrounded by flowers, gardens or nature in one way or the other my whole life. After traveling, moving countries back and forth, we have settled on Phillip Island. A beautiful part of Victoria with many beaches, wildlife and great nature all around. As a florist, my focus is on all aspects of the trade.
I am a qualified senior florist and I do not just focus on one part, simply because I like all parts of it. The quirky gifts I can create, the show stoppers at an event, welcoming blooms in a foyer, the pretty wedding flowers or thoughtful sympathy flowers.
Behind every gift or arrangement is a different meaning and I enjoy assisting customers to find that something special and a 'little different'.
I work with fresh, dried and artificial flowers, it all depends what the job description is. My aim is to open up a real shopfront one day, but everything takes time. Meanwhile I have opened up this little store, which I am quiet proud of as I am not a computer person at all! haha so hopefully it runs smoothly.
During the spring and summer months you will see me at the bigger markets on Phillip Island. That will be a good moment to pop into 'the real shop'.
